About 23 Psychiatry
Integrated Psychiatric Services
We take a functional approach to psychiatry to uncover the root cause of an individual’s symptoms. This involves examining the whole person: physical health including sleep, diet, and activity level, as well as relationships, thought patterns, and genetics. Our treatment plans are integrative, combining medication management with lifestyle modifications such as nutrition and exercise. At 23 Psychiatry, we connect our patients to other specialists, treatment modalities, and testing as necessary.
Meet Dr. Stelmach and Dr. Rice
I initially sought the study of the mind in order to figure out more about myself and my purpose. Over two decades of practicing the Art of Medicine and Psychiatry, I know that the best medicine doesn’t always come in pill form. I realize that an integrative approach, pulling from any and considering all healthy sources of possible treatments, is the best “medicine” for people. We strive to properly understand who our clients are as individuals with the goal of achieving one’s ideal state and sense of self through a custom tailored treatment plan. My personal journey with colon cancer has provided me new optics into the importance of integrative medicine.
I’ve been fortunate to have worked in the mental health field since 2004 and as a psychiatric physician assistant since 2014. I have a Doctor of Medical Science degree, a Master of Arts in Psychology, and a Master of Business Administration. In addition, I hold a Certificate of Added Qualification in Psychiatry through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and I'm a National Sports Academy Certified Nutrition Coach. I enjoy building a relationship of trust with the individuals I treat, keeping their goals and wishes at the center of any treatment decision we make together.
